2025 harvest. Red GABA tea from the imperial tea garden of Kun Lu Shan. Qiao mu — tall-trunk trees, 70-80 years old. Elevation around 1,600 m
Kun Lu Shan became an imperial tribute tea garden during the Qing dynasty. About 31 km north of Pu'er, on the southern edge of the Wuliang range, the mountain rises from around 1,400 to 2,300 m. The old garden still runs through the village itself, with cultivated trees growing among the houses and continuing almost seamlessly into the wild forest behind them. Around 370 ancient trees here are estimated to be over 400 years old.
Kun Lu Shan tea is naturally fine and elegant; GABA processing takes it in a very different direction. Floral and honeyed, with the characteristic GABA acidity woven into the profile rather than sitting on top
